Company Donates Two Dual Projection Systems for Use During the Global Competition
DOVER, NJ, AUGUST 28, 2014 — Casio America, Inc., the leading brand of LampFree® projectors, donated two Dual Projection Systems that were used at the 2014 US Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton Championships at Suffolk County Community College, which took place July 8-13, 2014. Sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation, 192 world class athletes from 30 countries competed including Canada, Chinese Taipei, Denmark, France, India, Indonesia, Japan, Netherlands, Thailand, Russia, USA, Vietnam. The event was live broadcast via BWF’s BadmintonWorld.TV. The finals were live broadcast globally.
The Casio Dual Projection System was chosen specifically for its ability to project large (up to 300” diagonal), bright images despite high ambient light. The systems were used to project player profiles and live scoring throughout the duration of the event. One of the units was installed courtside to project live coverage on to a 9’ x 16’ screen.
"We are very appreciative of Casio’s donation, which gave us the ability to offer a great visual experience socially for both attendees and participants," said Sami Saour, one of the event organizers.
Casio’s Dual Projection Systems are designed by incorporating two projectors mounted inside a custom cabinet. Dual Projection is available in two models; the XJ-SK650 features two 2600 Pro Series projectors and features up to 6,500 lumens, the XJ-SK600 features two Signature Series XJ-M250 projectors and provides up to 6,000 lumens. The Casio YA-S10 geometric correction box mounts on the outside of the cabinet and is used to align the two images. The box has 81 points of precision control allowing for easy modifications, alignment, and image warping using a remote control.
The Dual Projection System is powered by Casio’s state-of-the-art LASER & LED Hybrid Light Source, which provides LampFree®, eco-friendly data projection at a percentage of the cost of traditional projectors. Now in its 5th generation, Casio’s LASER & LED HYBRID Light Source combines a laser, a fluorescent element and LEDs to generate high brightness. The improved LASER & LED HYBRID Light Source now offers a 30 percent increase in LED light output for improved colors for all models in Casio’s portfolio in addition to an estimated 20,000 hour lifespan with minimal brightness degradation and continuous operation. Casio’s LASER & LED Hybrid Light Source will continue to serve as the driving force behind its projectors.
